Mall Maintenance Technician (Handyman Level)

Full-Time | On-Site | Shopping Mall | Must live near 30260 | Some Weekends Required

We are looking for a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate knows a little bit of everything and enjoys solving problems around the property. This role supports the safe and efficient operation of the mall by assisting with general repairs, preventive maintenance, and responding to tenant requests.

🗓️ Schedule Note

This role requires availability on some weekends, or one day of the weekend, as the mall operates extended hours and emergencies may occur outside standard business hours.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine building repairs (doors, locks, walls, flooring, ceiling tiles, painting)
• Minor plumbing repairs (toilets, sinks, leaks, drains, shut-offs)
• Basic electrical troubleshooting (light fixtures, ballasts, outlets, breakers)
• Operate tools, ladders, and lift equipment safely
• Assist tenants with maintenance needs in accordance with mall policies
• Maintain logs, work orders, and preventive maintenance schedules

🧰 Skills & Experience Desired

• Hands-on experience in general building maintenance, handyman work, or facility repairs
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting
• Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools
• Comfortable working on ladders and willing to obtain lift certification (training provided)
• Able to communicate professionally with tenants, vendors, and management
• Must be dependable, safety-minded, and willing to learn new systems

💪 Preferred Skills (Not Required — Training Provided)

• HVAC filter/belt replacement
• Lift certification (scissor or boom)
• Experience in commercial facilities, hotels, malls, schools, hospitals, or apartments
• Ability to read maintenance logs or building plans

👷‍♂️ Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely
• Walking/standing for extended periods
• Occasional rooftop and confined area access
• Work both indoors and outdoors
